Sales Representative

Appleton, WI
Sales Representatives are responsible for supporting the company’s sales goals through professional sales techniques and good customer service, maintaining quality relations with existing accounts, and providing sales and marketing coverage.  They are responsible for the sale of industrial specialty gases, welding supplies and other material to targeted industries. This position is required to work two plus Saturdays per year.
 
General Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Communicate and cultivate the Core Values of OSC internally and externally
  • Sell welding equipment, materials, and supplies to customers using technical knowledge, advising, and trouble-shooting problems
  • Develop maximum sales potential out of assigned territory through competitive sales techniques and knowledge of the company products and services as well as the competitive strengths/weaknesses
  • Work with Purchasing Department to maintain appropriate inventory levels communicating current and future needs
  • Work with Purchasing Department to reduce dead inventory levels
  • Responsible for managing customer accounts to include orders, DSO, and disputes as they arise
  • Maintain target list making cold calls to potential and current customers
  • Responsible for price auditing and growing profit margin for customers through contracts and ERP Software
  • Responsible for creating quotes, maintaining customer files, and account coordination and maintenance
  • Maintain CRM and/or scorecard metrics to increase market share
  • Provide training to customers and their employees. May include product demonstrations and presentations
  • Follow and execute the Track Selling Process utilizing the Value Proposition Tool

Education, Experience and Skills:
  • High School diploma or equivalency
  • Associates Degree or Certificate in business related field is a plus
  • 5+ years in welding or related industry with sales or customer service experience preferred
  • Valid Class D Driver’s License
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and ERP Software
  • Ability to work alone, influence people in opinions, attitudes, and judgements
  • Must be organized and have good time management, with the ability to perform effectively under tight deadlines
  • Demonstrate professionalism, superior people skills, strong oral and written communication skills
  • Must be a team player with a ability to communicate with all levels within an organization

The annual salary range for this position is $49,799/annually - $74,698/annually. This position may be eligible for commission opportunities.  Pay is dependent on several factors including relevant work experience and internal equity.
